Supporting a Service Director within the Children, Education and Families directorate, we are looking for a Personal Assistant to deliver efficient, effective and proactive support to enable the Service Director to focus on the key priorities and the strategic needs of the organisation.

This opportunity is offered on a permanent basis and for 37 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational and administrative abilities. Having an understanding of the work undertaken in Children, Education and Families would be an advantage but is not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for you to make a highly valued contribution to Cambridgeshire and to make a difference towards the lives of children and young people.

The role is based in our Headquarters of New Shire Hall, and we offer several flexible working options and the ability to work on a hybrid basis.

What will you be doing?

As a Personal Assistant you will have well developed knowledge of business administration processes and IT systems. You will be proficient in all Microsoft packages including Outlook and embrace new ways of working through technology. You will also have an A-C grade in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent experience. You will have well-developed knowledge of general business requirements such as HR and finance processes, information management, risk management, customer service and health and safety. You will be able to predict and pre-empt challenges and provide solutions with a calm, balanced and positive approach showing good judgement. You will develop strong and effective working relationship with colleagues, stakeholders and partners by embracing our values of being collaborative, accountable, respectful and focused on excellence.

About you

You will play a vital role in supplying professional, proactive, and confidential support to the Service Director enabling them to focus on our organisational priorities. This will include diary and inbox management, as well acting as a link to key corporate areas of work including the coordination of correspondence processes relating Members of Parliament. The role will also involve supporting the Service Director with management meetings and key panel meetings that discuss children and young people. You will be required to organise the meetings, keep an accurate record of decisions made during the meeting and update key business systems with the relevant information. You will work alongside and be part of an already established hub of Executive Assistants and Personal Assistants which form part of the centralised Executive Support Service.
