What will you be doing?

As an Assistant EHCP Caseworker, you will work alongside EHCP Casework Officers to support the statutory functions relating to Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment, review and complex case processes. You will help coordinate and progress casework in line with statutory requirements, acting as a key point of contact for families, schools and professionals to provide updates, respond to enquiries and ensure effective communication throughout the process. The role includes monitoring the progress of assessments and annual reviews, maintaining accurate case records, preparing information for SEND panels, and working closely with colleagues to ensure statutory deadlines are met. You will play an important role in enabling the service to run efficiently, supporting children and young people with SEND and helping families navigate the EHC process with confidence and reassurance.

About you

We are looking for compassionate, organised and proactive individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with families, schools and professionals, handling enquiries with empathy, sensitivity and professionalism. You will be confident managing a varied workload, have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, and be able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be a team player who can use their initiative, analyse information from a range of sources, and communicate complex processes clearly and confidently. Most importantly, you will be committed to delivering a high-quality, child-centred service and helping families navigate the EHCP process with understanding and reassurance.
