Contract Support Officer

Team: Childrens Strategic Commissioning

Job Family: Enabling – CBG9

Salary: £34,811 – £37,562 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week – Full-time

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location and other sites as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract Type: Hybrid – Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity until 4th August 2027

About the role:

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a dedicated Contract and Compliance Support Officer to deliver the role for a period of up to 12 months on a secondment or fixed term basis.

The post has a key role in the delivery of the childrens contracts and compliance function. The postholder will be required to assist in the process of monitoring contract delivery across a range of providers and services within Childrens Services. The role will also include supporting and delivering data analysis and performance review to support commissioning processes, maintaining market relationships, arranging provider forum, and providing support to the wider Strategic Commissioning services when required.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate who has existing knowledge of childrens services and has worked in a relevant role in this area. The candidate should an understanding of contract management as a function and experience of problem-solving. The idea candidate will be organised and proactive and will be able to manage deadlines and competing priorities with good attention to detail. Experience of involvement in governance processes is also desirable.

You will be able to work collaboratively across the system and develop positive relationships with stakeholders to achieve good outcomes in this role.
