Your Mission

A career in Children’s Services is like no other.

Your mission is to enhance the lives and wellbeing of families and children. Throughout your career, you’ll be delivering safety and stability for children throughout their lives, providing support and building relationships to make change happen. You’ll take the lead on providing help, support and high-quality assessments for families, often when they might be struggling.

You’ll be part of team, bringing a wide range of professionals together to work in the best interest of the children and families you support.

Your Skills

To work with Children’s Services you will have a wide skillset, reflecting the diversity of your work.

Your communication skills will be above the rest – you’ll never find a career where you’ll meet such a wide variety of people, and these skills are essential.

You’ll naturally be curious and able to analyse complex situations – without assumptions. It’s critical you can explore what’s happening with a family and analyse the facts to create solutions that minimize risk for families, and you.

You’re a collaborator and work alongside professionals from your wider team, as well as teachers, doctors and police. But you also collaborate with families, working with them to make change.
