Services include provision of youth work, youth participation, the development and provision of careers education, information, advice and guidance (IAG) and engagement and tracking. We are committed to working in collaboration with young people to ensure they have a voice. We pride ourselves on being a young person led service working alongside them and partners, to support them in achieving their aspirations and goals.

We are looking for a committed and dynamic professional to support the delivery of our youth offer and ensure there is meaningful engagement of young people in local decision making. You will be key to ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and that this is embedded within Central Bedfordshire Council and that their views are acted upon. In Central Bedfordshire, we have Central Bedfordshire Youth Voice which includes, Youth Parliament, Children in Care Council and Care Experienced Forum.

The successful candidate will work across our Children in Care Council, Care Experienced Adults, Youth Parliament, and develop the voice of young people with SEND in the local community, bringing passion, energy, and a genuine commitment to empowering young people.

We’re looking for someone who excels at building strong, positive relationships – especially with those from vulnerable or under‑represented groups – and who thrives in creating spaces where young people feel heard, valued, and inspired to speak up. In this role, you’ll lead youth voice activities, including afternoon and evening sessions, and champion the inclusion of young people with SEND across the local community. You’ll play a key part in motivating vulnerable groups to get involved, ensuring their voices shape services and spark real change.

You will extend and strengthen the opportunities for young people in active participation and plan, support and arrange activities, meetings, and events. You will be expected to complete direct work with young people and must be prepared to be flexible with your working hours, to meet the needs of young people in the community.

You should be able to demonstrate a track record of engaging with young people in both one to one and group work settings, as well as the skills to develop and plan group sessions and larger scale events. You must be JNC qualified or willing to work towards a minimum Level 3 Youth Work Qualification.
