In Norfolk we have exciting and ambitious plans to enhance the way we work with young people and their families. Our Supported Accommodation service works to create and promote a positive environment for each young person in the independent living scheme. 

This is a unique opportunity for a good leader who has excellent interpersonal skills and can demonstrate their ability to lead, motivate staff and drive change. They will make sure that young people are at the centre of everything that happens in the homes, you will be an excellent problem solver, make sound judgements under pressure and respond effectively in a crisis.

As a Team Manager in the supported accommodation service, you will be expected to provide management support to the staff Teams and Senior Practitioners at our Supported Accommodation Homes, providing care in accordance with legislation, departmental policies and procedures and county priorities. 

Provide effective management and leadership to the teams, ensuring that appropriate consultation and advice is given that will enable services to be provided to the department’s standards.

Ideally you will have a background in residential care or be experienced in working with children and have significant post qualification experience related to the role. You will be required to have a qualification relevant to working with children, young people / families or equivalent experience, and a level 5 qualification in management (or the willingness to work towards it).  You will be expected to undertake the requirements set out in the National Minimum Standards. 

This post is predominantly office hours, but you will be required to participate in the ‘on call’ rota for the homes at weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Duties will include the supervision, support and performance management of the senior practitioners and staff team. The Manager will lead on the ongoing development of the homes using feedback from young people and their families, other agencies, and by monitoring all aspects of the home, as required by the Supported Accommodation regulations 2023.

As part of your duties, you will ensure that legislation is met in all areas which includes being responsible for meeting the Ofsted standards and working in line with the guidelines.

To work within this environment, you will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will need to be reliable, have good personal relationship and communication skills as well as high professional standards.
