Senior Social Worker – Norfolk Youth Justice Service | 10608 | Secondment Opportunity / Temporary Contract for Two Years | 37 hours per week | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum | Grade K | Norwich

 

Our Norfolk Youth Justice Service (YJS) is a statutory multi-agency partnership hosted within Norfolk County Council to prevent children and young people from offending whilst safeguarding their welfare, protecting the public and helping restore the damage caused to the victims of their crimes.

As a YJS Senior Social Worker you will hold a caseload of the most complex cases, utilising specialist skills to undertake work with children and families and deliver positive change.  You will lead in complex situations and provide professional support to staff through guidance, co-working, mentoring, and modelling authoritative practice. 

 

Line management is a requirement of this role while also supporting practice development within the team to improve and maintain professional standards and champion and promote the highest professional standards.  This role is based in the Out of Court Team and based in Norwich.

 

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly, with a clear expectation of evening, weekend, and bank holiday working on a rota basis to cover weekend and bank holiday court and statutory contact’s cover.

With a professional qualification in social work, you will have significant relevant experience of designing and implementing interventions intended to change behaviours and achieve positive outcomes. You will understand relevant criminal justice and childcare legislation and theories, including effective practice and restorative justice principles and will have managed a caseload of young people with emotional, behavioural, or offending concerns. 

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the on-going growth of the YJS and partnership working and influence practice while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safeguarding and positive outcomes for children, working closely with colleagues across Children’s Services and partner agencies to ensure the YJS support children and families to flourish and thrive.
