Full time

Suffolk County Council

£48,163

04/01/2026

  • Suffolk County Council
  • Address: Landmark House, Ipswich, IP15PF – Hybrid
  • Salary: £48,163 per annum (pro rata if part time)
  • Hours: 37, flexible working options available
  • Contract: Permanent

Suffolk County Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Adult Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) — a vital service at the heart of adult safeguarding across the county. This is a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen multi-agency collaboration, ensuring adults at risk receive timely, effective, and person-centred support.

Reimagine the possibilities.

Your role and responsibilities

As the MASH Manager for Adults, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Adult MASH, ensuring high-quality triage and decision-making on safeguarding concerns.
  • Work closely with partner agencies including health, police, housing, and voluntary sector organisations to promote integrated safeguarding responses.
  • Provide oversight, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement of the MASH function.
  • Support staff development and maintain a culture of learning, accountability, and excellence.

You will need

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has significant experience in adult safeguarding, ideally within a multi-agency or statutory setting.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and partnership-building skills.
  • Understands the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, decision-critical environment.
  • Is committed to promoting dignity, respect, and empowerment for adults at risk.

You can view a full list of requirements in the Job and Person Profile (Word). If you believe you can succeed in this role, apply. Even if you don’t meet all requirements, still apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.

The team

You will manage the Adult MASH Team. The MASH co-locates key agencies together to effectively and efficiently respond to adult safeguarding concerns. The MASH provides the first point of contact for proportionate information sharing to enable robust risk assessment and decision making for next steps including if the safeguarding enquiry criteria has been met.
