We are looking to appoint a motivated and inspirational leader to support our skilled and devoted teaching team in delivering the school’s bespoke curriculum and strong ethos of Christian values, through which we are passionate that every child should believe, grow and shine.

Through professional leadership and management of the school the new headteacher will need to develop the existing strengths of the school, believe that good quality teaching comes through its people whilst upholding that there is always room to build on, expand and improve, and maintain the family feel of the school that we treasure.

We are looking for someone who will ensure that every decision is made with the children’s well-being and best interests at heart.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is passionate about teaching and learning with a keen eye and open mind on the latest research into progressive teaching techniques, to ensure that the school remains up to date in its approach to offering inspirational teaching to children of all abilities
  • has a deep understanding of how to support pupils with a range of different needs, and is committed to the principles of inclusive education
  • has experience of teaching across all primary ages, in addition to experience of senior leadership with a track record of setting up and running whole school projects successfully
  • will be confident in directing a team of experienced teachers
  • has excellent interpersonal skills, delegating where appropriate to ensure skillsets are maximised and individuals remain empowered, whilst ensuring everyone is included, encouraged and supported

  • has a strong commitment to safeguarding and the promotion of welfare of children, and the ability to instil this in their team and uphold a robust system of monitoring and reporting.

We need someone who:

  • will embrace the school’s broad and rich bespoke ‘Journey of Discovery’ curriculum with its interconnected learning and be wholly committed to equipping the children with the skills that they will need for their future learning and the knowledge and cultural capital that they will need to succeed in life
  • will share the school’s strong Christian values which are embedded within the school and form the basis of its therapeutic behaviour policy, and will nurture the existing relationship that we have with our local church
  • will recognise that staff are the best resource within the school, and appreciate the value of teaching through small group teaching and additional support, in order to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters for all children
  • is an approachable and pro-active role-model with a growth mindset, a sense of humour and a calm and caring nature who will ensure they, the teachers and the children achieve their very best.

We can offer the following:

  • A friendly and welcoming school with a real family feel that is well respected, valued and regarded by the local community and beyond.
  • Supportive, experienced and fun-loving staff who are prepared to go the extra mile for the children, from producing a video of ‘The Day the Crayons Came Home’ on YouTube to reach out to the Risby Family during Covid, to dancing Bollywood in the playground!
  • An exciting, well established bespoke curriculum to be proud of.
  • Happy children who are eager to learn and sing like angels!
  • An active and enthusiastic PTA whose endless talents range from summoning Father Christmas to visit, hosting after school board games and cinema clubs, and arranging sellout summer fetes!
  • Strong and supportive relationships with our families who never fail to turn up with drills and hammers for a playground working party!
