We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Cyclical Maintenance Manager responsible for leading and managing all routine and cyclical highway maintenance activities across Cambridgeshire. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of officers, ensuring the effective delivery of cyclical maintenance activities in Cambridgeshire. You will manage a team of officers who are responsible for planning varied programmes of works at the appropriate frequency across approximately 4,500km of highway. You will need to balance local aspirations, County Council priorities and budgets to make this role a success. You will provide strategic guidance to the team and ensure that working practices align with the County’s CARE values. You will be responsible for monitoring the team’s performance against defined KPIs and ensuring targets are met including in year delivery targets. You will need to collaborate with other managers in the Highway service area to ensure a consistent approach is adopted across the service. You will have a customer service focus as you will be a key contact for elected members and be ultimately responsible for ensuring that County, District, and Parish Councillors are kept informed of work in their electoral divisions.You will be responsible for managing a large maintenance budget, both revenue and capital. Your knowledge of highways, project management techniques, construction, and drainage & winter or green infrastructure maintenance is informed by industry best practice, national standards, experience and design guides.
