We are seeking two highly skilled and experienced professionals to join our team as the Cyclical Highway Maintenance Leads responsible for all routine and cyclical highway maintenance programmes. These maintenance programmes are centred around one of two key themes: Drainage and winter maintenance.Green Infrastructure.In this role, you will be accountable for ensuring the highway network is managed and maintained in a safe manner and ensuring that the lifespan of highways assets is maximised. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a team of officers, ensuring the effective delivery of cyclical maintenance works in Cambridgeshire. You will manage a team of officers who are responsible for planning varied programmes of works at the appropriate frequency across approximately 4,500km of highway. You will support, train and advise your team and act as a point of escalation for complex cases. You will ensure the programme of works is delivered in line with Council priorities and policy. A flexible approach is a must in order to deliver programmed works and to ensure these works are responsive to changing circumstances and data trends. You will engage with the community and work in collaboration with the Area Maintenance Managers and Cyclical Maintenance Manager ensuring our customers and stakeholders are kept informed of relevant highway works. About you We are seeking an exceptional leader with a deep understanding of highways maintenance. With a strong background in civil engineering, infrastructure, or a related discipline, you bring a wealth of experience in leading services within a large and dynamic organisation. You will be passionate about delivering high-quality, customer-focused services that make a tangible difference to communities. Your knowledge of highways, project management techniques, construction, and drainage & winter or green infrastructure maintenance is informed by industry best practice, national standards, experience and design guides. You will combine technical expertise with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, enabling you to inspire teams, build strong partnerships, and drive continuous improvement.
