We are looking for two Children’s Complaints Officers to join us on 12-month fixed-term contracts. There is one full-time post and one part-time (30 hours per week).
This is a busy role handling complaints, enquiries, feedback and service requests for Children, Education and Families.
We work officially as a hybrid team, with the majority of time spent working from home. For office days, our base is Scott House in Huntingdon.

What will you be doing?
The focus of this role is handling complaints, enquiries, feedback and service requests for the Children, Education and Families directorate.
You will be:
– Processing, responding to and overseeing complaints, enquiries and feedback in line with relevant local and national policy, guidance and legislation
– Facilitating and supporting full written responses on behalf of the council
– Ensuring accurate record-keeping on relevant systems and documentation
– Supporting completion of reports in relation to the work of the Complaints and Feedback Team
– Liaising with relevant officers and managers in relation to processes, responses and outcomes

About you
You will need to be:
– Confident following procedures and applying set principles
– Comfortable using IT including MS Office (particularly Excel) and a range of bespoke programmes
– Able to manage a busy and complex workload, including working to deadlines
– Confident to communicate effectively with a range of people/stakeholders, including your customers, who will often need the complaints process explaining to them
– Detail-orientated, able to work through lots of information and pick out what is relevant
– Comfortable with challenging conversations
