About the role:
We are looking to recruit Archaeological Technicians / Assistant Supervisors to our field team. These are permanent posts with automatic progression between CBG6 and CBG7 subject to successful review against our career progression criteria. Please note accreditation with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists is one of the requirements for progression to the CBG7 role.
Whilst these are not training roles, successful applicants will be offered full support to develop into their new post. We expect all applicants to have sufficient experience to demonstrate that they have a good grounding in archaeological technique, a knowledge of commercial archaeology and that they can work safely within a construction-related environment.
Albion Archaeology is a trading unit of Central Bedfordshire Council, and a registered organisation with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA). We are committed to professional standards, public engagement, and providing high levels of service to our customers. Our main office is in Bedford with transport out to site available from there. Some occasional working away may be required, although most of our sites are within travelling distance of our base.
The role does not require driving as an essential skill, although ability to drive fleet vehicles to our sites is desirable. We offer 4WD training to all drivers.
