We are pleased to be able to offer exciting opportunities for Project Technician roles within the Highways Design Team based at County Hall in Norwich. 

 

The Highway Design Team delivers a wide range of highway construction projects within the County Council as part of its Capital Improvement and Structural Maintenance Programmes.  The Team also deliver projects funded by developers, District and Borough Councils.  Typical works cover all aspects of highway design and construction ranging from small £50k Structural Maintenance Schemes up to £3m Improvement projects.

 

A Project Technician typically works on a range of small highway construction projects, such as footway reconstruction, carriageway resurfacing and drainage schemes, and will assist with the delivery of larger or more complex projects.

 

The Project Technician post has three gradings – Level 1, 2 and 3 (Scales D, E and G respectively): 

 

● A level 1 Technician will generally be expected to work towards a recognised civil engineering qualification.

● A level 2 Technician will have some prior experience or already be studying towards an engineering qualification.  

● A level 3 Technician has more experience and will already have a National Certificate in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and achieved EngTech professional status.
