Your role and responsibilities

This role is a great opportunity for an individual to utilise creative thinking, proven communication, engagement, social media and digital skills to support the involvement of service users, in particular young people.

The Information Co-Production Adviser is part of the Engagement Hub in the Children and Young People’s Directorate, whose purpose is to work with commissioners to maximise resources through co-production with children, young people and families.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • support the functional and everyday content development of The Source website and associated web-based applications, including social media, co-produced with young people
  • provide fresh thinking and demonstrable experience of using social media and new technology to improve young people’s access to information and advice, and communicate what support is available to them
  • regularly engage and support young people from diverse backgrounds across the county, empowering them to share their experiences with decision makers
  • support the team with the creation of marketing materials using digital software
  • support the wider team at events and Co-production activities with young people
  • work with the wider team to gain the views and lived experience of children and Young People.

You will need:

  • strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear, impartial advice and information tailored to the needs of different audiences. You will be confident when creating engaging and accessible content for the service website
  • excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with partners and service users. You will be comfortable engaging directly with young people through meetings and collaborative activities
  • a creative, flexible and innovative approach, with the ability to contribute new ideas and adapt to changing needs
  • good IT skills, with experience of using a range of applications relevant to the role.

The team

The Engagement Hub is based within the Children and Young People’s Services Directorate, and is part of the Quality, Engagement and Professional Development Service, we work with service delivery teams and stakeholders to build a shared understanding of the benefit of co-production.

Our role is to engage with service users, to enable the voice of children and young people to be heard by decision makers, to facilitate co-production and engagement opportunities, and to provide information expertise. Whilst ensuring that stakeholders including SCC staff are supported to become key players in co-production work.

We are a small, friendly team who all work together to ensure that we are hearing the voices of Suffolk young people and ensuring that their lived experiences are at the heart of our services.
