Full time

Cambridgeshire County Council

(Annual) £34,434 – £36,363

15/04/2026

Do you want to be part of a team that actively encourages and celebrates young people’s aspirations? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Leaving Care Service as a full-time, permanent Personal Advisor at Noble House Ely or Scott House, Huntingdon.

In this rewarding role, you will provide guidance, advice, and practical support to our Care Leavers, helping them prepare for independent living and supporting them to pursue their ambitions and achieve their goals.

Working within a Pathway Planning framework, you will support care-experienced young people—primarily aged 18–25—as they transition into adulthood. You will collaborate closely with a wide range of professionals and partners involved in a young person’s life, ensuring a joined-up, holistic approach that places the young person at the centre of everything you do.

No two days will be the same. As a Personal Advisor, you will experience a varied and dynamic role, offering continual learning and development opportunities. You will build strong, trusted relationships with young people through consistency, reliability, and respect—meeting them where they are and remaining focused on achieving positive, sustainable outcomes.

If you are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of care leavers and have the skills and commitment to support them on their journey to independence, we warmly encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.

Now is a great time to join Cambridgeshire County Council as we develop a new model of practice focussed on relationships and being aspirational for children in our care in terms of their homes, relationships with their families and educational opportunities. We commit to embedding the Council ambitions for a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire.

If this sounds like a role that suits your skill set, we would love to hear from you!

For more information, please contact Isabella Stecka – Isabella.Stecka@cambridgeshire.gov.uk – 07795307575

We expect interviews to be held at Scott House, Huntingdon, or Noble House, Ely the week commencing 27th April 2026.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What will you be doing?

As a Personal Advisor, you will play a vital role in empowering young people as they move towards independence. You will assess their needs, co-create meaningful Pathway Plans, and walk alongside our Care Leavers as a trusted, consistent professional in their lives.

Working in partnership with families, friends, and professionals across education, housing, and health, you will champion each young person’s ambitions and help remove barriers to success. You will maintain regular, purposeful contact, ensuring young people can fully access our local offer for Care Leavers. Alongside this, you will keep clear, accurate, and timely records and contribute to our duty support service as part of a committed Personal Advisor team.

About you
