Residential Children’s Practitioner – Level 1 – Grade E £26,403 – £28,142

Residential Children’s Practitioner – Level 2 – Grade G £31,537-£33,699

Residential Children’s Practitioner – Level 3 – Grade H £34,434 –£36,363 

 

All levels are pro rata, per annum plus sleep in payments and weekend enhancements and are dependent on qualifications and experience.

Full time contracts, level 1 or 2 offer day or night shifts, please specify on your application form.

The Den and Springwood are both residential homes in Norwich.  We provide holistic care to young people with a variety of needs which include young people with learning disabilities (either diagnosed or undiagnosed) and also children/young people with emotional and behavioral needs.

 

Foxwood short breaks home provides round the clock care for children and young people.

 

You will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic team who endeavour to make significant changes in young people’s lives. Our teams work across the whole week (including weekends and bank holidays)

 

Ideally you will have a background in residential care or be experienced in working with children. You will be required to have good levels of literacy and numeracy.  Posts are primarily for day or night shifts: however, flexibility is required as you may be asked to cover either and sometimes be required to sleep in and any training will be carried out during the day.

 

To work within this environment, you will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will need to be reliable, have good personal relationship and communication skills as well as high professional standards.

 

Please be aware that as Norfolk County Council we can only offer skilled worker sponsorships and that the salary threshold is £33,400 per year.

Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties will include: 

  • Supporting and providing meaningful day to day activities for the young people.
  • Developing personal and practical skills to enhance young people’s independence skills.
  • Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills.
  • Managing complex behaviours that can be challenging.
  • Work in collaboration, and also directly with families and other professional, to ensure best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Hold or be willing to work towards the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (paid for).
