Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

About the role:

The Care Sector Workforce Development Officer is a one year funded role that will aid the Council’s oversight around the workforce demographics and recruitment activity to strengthen our evidence base on and help keep stability within the adult social care workforce in order to mitigate and escalate risk identified.

Purpose of the role:

The Care Sector Workforce Development Officer will support the adult social care workforce to deliver a wide range of recruitment, retention and wellbeing initiatives. They will be improving the Council’s intelligence of the adult social care workforce and sharing evidence to shape and strengthen the local deployment of Regional International Recruitment Initiatives.

This dedicated role will deliver against the Council’s agreed programme and address the potential recruitment and retention initiatives, as well as onboarding of international recruits within the external adult social care sector. They will need to be organised, innovative, passionate about the subject matter and able to communicate intiatives and training. This responsibility will ensure our infrastructure is in place to be resilient, manage and strengthen our support in relation to ensuring we have sufficient external workforce capacity in the adult social care sector. The role will be confident in building relationships, collaborating with others and working as a part of a team. They will show confidence in data collection and analysis.

The role will need to work closely with the Contracts & Compliance team to ensure there is targeted support for our external provider market to improve services that support our commissioned care.

Main duties:-

  • To ensure the Council have clear data collection and monitoring processes in place with disseminating information and guidance and sharing insights and learning.
  • Improve the Council’s intelligence within our local area on international recruits working closely with the Bedfordshire Care Group, listen and gather feedback to aid the Council’s position in terms of data analysis.
  • Engage with local and regional partners and raise awareness working with CQC, The Home Office, Safeguarding Teams to ensure we are supporting international recruits in the Central Bedfordshire area.
  • Prepare regular communication via forums and newsletters to offer training and awareness.
  • Proactively engage with providers commissioned and non-commissioned with the promotion of the local international recruitment app.
  • Prepare and engage in dedicated events to share essential guidance with our provider market.
